Statement.

I'm a home girl, I don't like the idea of moving too far away from home so I was really happy when I went to Manchester open day and found that the course supports my style of work as well as helping me develop my skills in the other areas.
I really enjoy getting a message across with textiles, for example, 'Ada's Chair' was an installation about the atmosphere in my nanna's house and I tried to recreate that. Her chair was a significant piece of furniture in her home so I used that as a starting point and built upon it.
For the project 'I Don't Ever Want To Grow Up' I took inspiration from Helen O'Leary and used a significant piece of clothing to make a statement. I also used collage inspired by Sabrina Ward Harrison, I felt this added an innocent element to what started out quite dark.

I also really enjoy creating sketchbooks, I know that people think that sketchbooks shouldn't be precious as they're just a journal to show your thought process but I personally believe that they are a piece of art in themselves.
I tend to get inspired by learning new skills and I’m hoping that this course and all it has to offer will inspire me with new techniques and help me perfect the skills I already have acquired.
